The science world is abuzz with the release of a study detailing how mosquitoes can still be so annoying even in the pouring rain. By showering lab mosquitoes with a rain simulator we’re able to see that instead of dodging the drops, the insects just fall with it until it slides around them. Considering the weight difference (it’s supposedly the same as being hit by a bus for us humans), that’s pretty impressive. Applications? Fluid dynamics for the physicists and eventually, nanobots that use the same process for getting through rain.
